
With six dried herbs in the soup, it has earn its name – Liu Wei Tang aka Six Combination Soup. Well known to improve appetite, they are great when one is suffering from organ dryness (organ being heaty). Chinese Yam are said to help restoring “Qi” while solomon’s seal rhizome had moisturizing properties and are great for alleviating throat and lung ailments. Unlike traditional Chinese soup, this has a light taste and even taste like a dessert if you don’t add meat into it.
Ingredients
- 2 pcs of Chinese Yam
- 10 pcs Solomon’s Seal Rhizome
- 10g Lotus Seed
- 10g Lily Bulbs
- 10g Fox Nuts
- 10g Dried Longan
- Meat (2 drumstick or 100g pork rib)
- 700ml water
- Rinse all herbs
- Blanch the meat
- Add all ingredient into pot with meat and bring to boil
- Store in thermal cooker for at least 3 hours otherwise simmer for at least 1 hour
- Reboil the soup when serving
