Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup Samgyetang Recipe for 4



  • Whole Chicken (Small), Clean
  • 1.5 Litre of Water

Stuffing in Chicken

  • 4 Tbsp of Rice (Glutinous Rice, Recommended)
  • 1 Dried/Fresh Ginseng
  • 4 peeled whole garlic cloves
  • 4 dried Jujube
  • Ginseng roots for more taste (Optional)

How to Wash the Chicken

  • Blanch the Chicken

Or

  • Clean/Rub the Chicken with Salt (Inside & Outside of the Chicken)
  • Rinse off the Salt

Direction

  1. Stuff all ingredient into the Chicken
  2. Put chicken into with Boiling water
  3. Boil in medium high heat for 30 minutes
  4. Bring the heat to medium and simmer for 40 minutes or place in thermal pot to simmer for at least 3 hours
  5. Add green onion, salt & pepper to taste

Tip: Reduce the recipe by half for 2 pax. You can replace whole chicken with drumstick if can’t find whole chicken.
